Armani Prive Fall/ Winter 2011/12 Haute Couture Collection presented during Paris Fashion Week paid a homage to Japan. The Italian designer Giorgio Armani’s deeper and more emotional connection to Japan was visible in the collection that showed his support in a more personal way.

Channeling Eastern influences from Japan, Armani Prive Fall 2011 Haute Couture women’s dresses featured famous Japanese visual icons including parasols and cherry blossoms as well as obilike belts and origamilike folds.
New Japan was prominent in double cuff on a jacket sleeve, man-tailored pants, layered, elongated Edwardian line and much more.
Highlights of Armani Prive Haute Couture Autun/ Winter 2011 Collection included stiffened bodices that looked like shields over the torso, sleek take on kimonos, one-armed jackets, a velvet dress with diagonal slash revealing a printed interior, black velvet trouser suits with cigarette pants and nipped shoulders.
Making the show dramatic were glamboyant Philip Treacy’s hats resembling giant origami architecture that highlighted the structured nature of Armani’s couture.
Rounding up the show were models stepping on runway in sparkling long and form-fitting evening sheath adorned with tangerine bugle beads.
