When you think about it, its amazing that we live in a world in which we can poke fun at the people with the most power, and not have to suffer any scary consequences. Thats why we are indebted to comediennes like Amy Poehler for satirizing Secretary of State Hilary Clinton on Saturday Night Live. Poehler received has received due honors for tickling our funny bones, receiving Emmy nominations for her SNL performances and more recently, her own comedy series, Parks and Recreation.
Harriet has done so many talks lately I think she may lose her voice by Easter!
This sacrifice has been well worth it though – her talks have been really well received and both got a really high attendance.
On Wednesday Harriet was invited to do a talk on the RJC, by the British Jewellers Association (BJA) in the lovely Hatton Garden. The talk was great, and a lot more people came than I think Harriet was expecting (which I’m sure added to the nerves a bit) but she did really well and really helped to highlight the importance for other jewellers to become part of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
The very next day Harriet did a talk on Fairtrade and Fairmined gold in the St Albans council offices which was an open meeting to the public.
